eBay PLEASE NOTE : In the following description, I referred to this item as being a toy primarily because it started out as a toy. However, after giving this some thought over night, I consider this item to be more of a work of art than I do a toy. An artist can compose or play music, work on canvas, sculpt clay to make bronze castings, style automobiles or other commercial products, carve wood or do lots of other creative things. One or more master metal shapers rebuilt a child’s toy to make the masterpiece you see here. Please enjoy it like I have for several years. Thanks a lot, Bob Woodburn in Bozeman Montana USA I can ship this gorgeous custom built toy car to any country outside of the USA most economically using Priority Mail International from the United Sates Postal Service. This toy started life as a pressed steel Wyandotte Cord convertible coupe that was made in the mid to later 1930’s. This toy is the black convertible coupe that is shown with two other customized Cord toys in the last 2 photos of this listing. The maroon sedan and the red phaeton or convertible sedan are NOT part of this listing but are shown for your reference only. There is no manufacturer’s tag on the bottom of this toy like there is on both of the other Cord creations I am offering here. Since all 3 were in the same group when I bought them, I suspect that this item may have been restored by Marving Silverstein. The chances are very good that if you are looking at this listing, you probably know more about the builders of this toy than I do. If so, please enlighten me with any information you might have. Marvin Silverstein passed away back in 2010. The windshield is the better of the two used on the stock Wyandotte Cord toy. I will explain windshield and rear wheel locating modifications later. The front and rear bumpers are very nice replacements for the original bumpers that Wyandotte used on their original 1930’s toy. This toy measures 13-1/4″ in overall length by 4-3/4″ wide and 4-1/4″ tall. The white tires are newer ones made from real rubber rather than the more commonly used silicone rubber. They say WYANDOTTE TOYS and MADE IN USA on both sidewalls. When one displays this fine piece, they should block it up to keep the tires from touching anything and forming flat spots on them. When it comes to rating the condition of this treasure, I would rate it as being about a 9.2 on a scale of 10. The black paint is very nice automotive quality with a very narrow hand painted red pinstripe which probably does not show up well in the photos of this listing. There is a very minor issue at the front of the tan convertible top but it does not appreciably detract from this gem. I bought all three of the toys shown in the last two photos of this listing at an auction several years ago when I had a lot of enthusiasm for Cord automobiles and for collecting vehicles in general. My interests and priorities have changed in the last two years so I have hundreds if not thousands of great items to sell here now so please watch my listings here on eBay. If you are really into Cord automobiles, you might do well to give some very serious thought to buying this toy while it is still available. Thanks a lot, Bob Woodburn in Bozeman Montana USA
