#152 – Antique Sampson Rope SAMPLE – June 1898 – Perfection Sail Twine Here is a neat rope sample from 1898, with original label, the sample measures 9 ½” in length, the paper tag is hand written in old style ink. The tag is broken in half but complete. Each side reads as follows; Front; Name – Geo. B. Carpenter & Co Style – Luieu Waterproofed No. – 18 Lbs. Date – Jan. 24, 1898 Reverse side; Made of Perfection Sail Twine 3 ply – 6 cord – 20 strands, 1 centre about 650 lbs. made by error in order made for #18, only measures #1b Overall excellent condition other than broken tag, see pics.
